February 4, 2006 – The King's Ball
A costumed event continuing a traditional French pre-Lenten celebration that has been taking place in Ste. Genevieve for over 250 years. Townsfolk, guests, and groups from nearby communities gather to dance and celebrate. Live music provided by the Cash Rebates. Colonial dress costumes encouraged but not required. A King and his court are selected in the old way by participants finding tokens in the King’s Cake (La Galette des Rois).

February 4 & 5, 2006 – French & Indian War Assemblage
A winter gathering of French & Indian period re-enactors camping and competing in a Team Woods Walk. Musket competition.

German pancake and sausage dinner, German music at St. John Church

March 25 & 26, 2006 – American Longrifle Association Encampment
A portrayal of the Long Hunter era of 1750-1790. This is the annual ALRA encampment.

April 1 & 2, 2006 – Colonial Trade Fair & Musket Frolic
A juried living history event depicting the Illinois country, 1750-1790. Includes shooting matches for rifle and musket, colonial games, and military demonstrations.

April 23, 2006 – Cannon School
An instructional course for the historical artillery man. A certificate of safety will be issued to each participant that passes the course. There will be a line firing competition.

April 29 & 30, 2006 – Ecole de Soldat
Various activities. Professional historians will give lectures on topics of interest to re-enactors.

May 7, 2006 – Fruehlingsfest
Celebrate spring by attending the Antique & Garden Show in the historic district.

May 6, 2006 – Kids’ Day
A special day for children with 18th century games, contests, story telling, puppet shows, prizes, and refreshments. Free to children of all ages.

May 20 & 21, 2006 – Annual Garden Tour
Gardens throughout the historic district will be open for touring. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and provide directions. Herb sale at the Bolduc House. No charge for the tour. Maps provided.

May 26 & 27, 2006 – Civic Association Homecoming
Maeystown, IL

June 3 & 4, 2006 – 36th Annual Rendezvous
One of the largest in the country. 18th century crafts, food, music, hundreds of historically dressed participants, flintlock rifle and musket competition, cannon and mortar competition, traders, and much more. Free admission. Small parking fee.

A wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of summer as quality antique dealers will be set up at the Knight’s of Columbus Hall on Market Street.

Celebrate the New Year with an historic local tradition. Free refreshments and music. Starts at 7:30 pm when the La Guiannee Society from Prairie du Rocher arrives at Fort de Chartres continuing a tradition that began in 1722 when the town was founded. .
